BLAH!

Does anyone else feel like January is kind of a "blah" month? I feel like December is so filled with excitement and happiness, parties, vacations, the first snow and then FiNaLlY the big day comes...ChRiStMaS! And then just a short week later, poof...back to reality!

Regardless of the harsh realities we have managed to stay busy, doing what you may ask?

Being Sick for starters! I cannot even begin to tell you how many different illnesses we have had at this house, it's r-i-d-i-c-u-l-o-u-s, Ridiculous! Colds, coughs, flu, stomach flu, thrush, soupy poopies, we've had it all...and glad to see it GONE. I'm hoping we got it ALL out of our system and we are done for the YEAR!

Story Hour, we've done story hour for quite some time now but Allie is REALLY loving it these days. On Tuesday morning I heard Jordan tell Allie, "Today is story hour!" She replied, "Hum, I wonder what we will learn about today!?" So cute, if you ask me! And then today when I got out of the shower I tip-toed into the family room to spy on her and she was playing story hour with her imaginary friends *melt my heart* she is getting so big. London too enjoys story hour, it poses a new challenge, StAiRs!!!

Imaginary Friends, oh imaginary friends! Allie has 3, yes count them 1-2-3 imaginary friends, let me introduce you! Now I promise this is 100% ALL Allie's imagination. First we have "Ah Ah." Ah Ah is a 2 year old boy with yellow hair and blue eyes who wears big girl panties. Second we have, "Heely." Heely is a little girl who just so happened to turn 2 yesterday. She has blue hair and blue eyes. Third is, "Oo Oo." We don't know much about Oo Oo, YET, it just joined the bunch yesterday and I haven't asked much about him OR her yet. Nevertheless I really like the bunch, they seem like good kids and keep Allie entertained!

Play Group, we have a Friday play group every Friday during the winter that Allie, London and I all enjoy. Allie loves all the toys and it's good for her to interact with other children, London is for the most part content to just kind of sit and watch the craziness around her. I love the social aspect of it all! It's nice to be able to visit with other Mom's and I think it's safe to say it's a little sanity for us all during these cold months! This past week Jordan was even able to drop in on our play group and I think again this Friday. He has been working at the community center, which is where play group is held so it's been fun to go in a few minutes early to surprise him.

We've kept busy with some retail therapy these past few days. I've had a rough couple of days due to some not very kind people with TOO much time on their hands and what's better to cure a pity party then... SHOPPING!? We did just that Monday.... and again TODAY...and it was GrEaT!!! Can I just say that I LOVE Sam's Club shopping carts...as do my girls! Why can't every store have carts that fit 2 kids in the front? You may be asking yourself, "Sam's Club for retail therapy?" It was just one stop before we hit the mall! And actually I scored 4 super cute baby gifts while I was there and all 3 of us ate lunch for $4.01, I was pretty proud of that!

London, oh London! This cute girl keeps me on my toes! She is so stinkin' adorable and so stinkin' into EvErYtHiNg! She is crawling like a mad woman and pulling up on anything and everything. I feel like I would have a lot more energy for her if she would sleep through night already! I bought a book at Barnes and Nobel the other day that I'm getting really excited about, "The No-Cry Sleep Solution" I started my first sleep log last night. She actually had a fairly good night last night, only up at 9:30, 10:45, 2:51 and 5:12! Regardless I am going for the full 11 hours so I'll keep you posted on how the technique works.

Quick London story just to introduce you to a day in the life of London. Now I kNoW I cannot shower while London is awake because that is FAR too long for her to be unattended but on Sunday morning Jordan had a meeting and I wasn't totally ready by the time he left, I was showered but hair wasn't done and make-up wasn't on. I was in the bathroom getting ready and checking on London (who was in the family room) like every 2 minutes. One time I came out to check on her and she was sitting about an inch away and directly in front of the wood burning fire place staring at it eating wood chips. Ahh, talk about my heart skipping a few beats! Man, was I grateful I checked on her when I did. I KNOW if I had waited 5 more seconds she would have grabbed it and pulled up on it. It makes me physically ill just typing that.

So we've kept busy lately! We are looking forward to a few quick weekend get-aways that we have planned for the next couple of months. Here's to hoping you too have been staying busy during this "blah" month!

Happy January!

I love those shopping carts that fit 2 kids in the front! Every store should have them!

Dylan just made some imaginary friends too...his are trouble makers- they spill drinks, say bad words, and break things! It's so funny to watch them play, isn't it?!

Hope the rest of the month isn't as "blah" for you!

Sounds more busy than blah! I have read about other "blah January's" from other people, too. You're not alone.

And I love Allie's imaginary friends. Sounds familiar...

And sorry to hear about the "not very kind people with TOO much time on their hands." I've now learned that it's better to talk to them than just about them. Shopping does help, too!

And I'm so glad you caught London when you did. I wish I could have done that 3 years ago with Gage!
